Millennium Health, a leading provider of clinical drug testing for healthcare providers, has signed an agreement with the U.S. Department of Health Human Services (HHS) to HHS Provide real-time data to quickly direct the public's response to the emerging drug abuse epidemic.

Lukowiak adds that Millennium's complementary, peer-reviewed studies published in May 2019 and January 2020 have helped validate their approach and provide the basis for formalizing their emerging threat intelligence program.

The donation of real-time data from Millennium Health's Emerging Threat Intelligence Program provides HHS with an opportunity to inform local health authorities faster about drug trends in their communities, the press release said.
"The Trump Administration recognizes the power of real-time data in the diverse efforts to curb the overdose epidemic," said Deputy Secretary of Health Admiral Brett P. Giroir, MD, HHS may speak with city, county health officials and the state work together to provide resources that help reduce crisis points and save lives. "
Donating this data is an important tool to reduce the occurrence of the substance use epidemic and to reach the people who need it most, Giroir adds.
