After an investigation into heroin supply in Kings Cross, four people were indicted by detectives.
In March 2020, detectives from the Kings Cross Police Area Command drug unit founded the Strike Force Montem to investigate heroin supply in the region.
After extensive investigations, the investigators, with the support of Operation Odin, carried out three search warrants yesterday in homes in Woolloomooloo, Darlinghurst and Pyrmont (Thursday, May 28, 2020).
Around 6:00 a.m., officers carried out the first search warrant in a house on McElhone Street in Woolloomooloo and arrested a 38-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman who were taken to Kings Cross Police Station.
During the search, the police confiscated cannabis, heroin, USBs, cell phones, laptops and an offensive device.
The man was charged with delivering banned drug and two counts own banned drug. He was denied bail and appeared yesterday (Thursday May 28, 2020) at the Central Local Court, where he was officially granted a conditional bail to reappear on Wednesday July 8, 2020 at the same court.
The woman was charged with two charges and provides banned drug and possessed banned drug. She was denied bail and appeared yesterday at the Central Local Court, where she was officially denied on Wednesday June 3, 2020.
At 10:20 am, officials visited Womerah Avenue in Darlinghurst and arrested a 30-year-old man leaving a unit.
Shortly afterwards, the second warrant was enforced in the unit on Womerah Avenue, where the police confiscated methyl amphamine, cannabis, clothing, and cell phones.
The 30 The one-year-old man was taken to Kings Cross Police Station, where he was charged with 57 counts of banned drugs, continued banned drugs, and knowingly dealing with crime proceeds.
He was denied bail to appear before the Central Local Court today (Thursday, May 29, 2020).
Also on Womerah Avenue, the police stopped a man driving a silver Hyundai Veloster. Upon request, the 34-year-old was issued a judicial attendance notice for driving motor vehicles during the disqualification period. He is due to appear before the Downing Center District Court on Tuesday, July 21, 2020.
At 10:35 a.m. a 42-year-old man was arrested while walking down Liverpool Street in Surry Hills.
He was taken to the Surry Hills Police Station and charged with proceeds from crime, money / property, possession of banned drugs, ongoing delivery of banned drugs, and eight counts of banned drugs.
He Was Denied The bail will appear at the Central Local Court tomorrow (Friday, May 29, 2020).
At 1:05 p.m., the third search warrant was issued at an address on Allen Street in Pyrmont, with the police confiscating drugs, laptops, clothing, and cell phones
The commander of the Kings Cross Police Area Command, superintendent Paul Carrett, praised the officials for their hard work in removing drug addicts from the streets.
“Since the start of this operation, our dedicated team has been able to capture a number of people supp heroin in the Kings Cross area.
“Strike Force Montem's great work in dismantling such drug supply operations helps protect our streets and prevent drug abuse and the effects of addiction to the community.
"We will continue to target the supply of illegal drugs in the community and will not stop until all distributors have the full force of the law."
